excursions in baking black

Hey everyone. I thought I would start blogging about things I bake. We all like delicious treats right? šŸ™‚

Yesterday I decided to make scones for breakfast. I found a recipe from All-recipes, but I deviated from it. Here is what I did for the recipe!

Ingredients:
3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1/2 Cup White Sugar
5 Teaspoons Brown Sugar
5 Teaspoons baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Cup Butter
1 egg, beaten
1 Cup Milk
1 Tablespoon Vanilla

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.

2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, brown sugar cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cut in butter. Mix the egg, milk, and Vanilla in a small bowl, and stir into flour mixture until moistened.

3.Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead briefly. Roll dough out into a 1/2 inch thick round. Cut into 8 wedges, and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Original RecipeĀ (The directions came from here, but I added my changes to them in this post)

I needed to cook mine a little longer than I did since they weren’t quite golden-brown, but they came out yummy! Have a nice glace of milk with them and you are good to go :).

What do you all think? Should I keep doing this? What would you like to see me bake next?
